No offense, but I find Hayesville and basically all of Clay County... to be a bit weird. I don't know why, it just felt weird while we were walking around downtown. Anyway, when we got there, there was this festival thing going on for their courthouse's 200th anniversary, so we actually got to walk inside the courthouse for once. It was fancy, until I realized that that was the old one and I forgot to get the new one. But whatever. I have nothing much to say in this post, because we were there for such a short amount of time before we left. Anyway, I got the Clay County Veterans Memorial, which was right beside a road for some reason.

The town is very small, with only around 400 people. But when we got to the festival there, there were TON of people. The town feels small, however. Also, the county is actually the smallest by total area. However, by land area only, it's the second smallest, with the smallest then going to Chowan.

We got the courthouse. It took us a long time to get a good picture because of all the people walking around, but we eventually got it.
