"Downtown Lenoir - Together we Create"
So uh... We're in the Piedmont now? Neat, got almost the entire western part of the state done. Now its time to start heading east, and before you hit the Piedmont, you enter the foothills, and thats where Caldwell County is.
Now I know I've talked about artsy county seats but so far this one takes the cake. There are lots of statues scattered around downtown, everywhere you look.
This town was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. The town was originally known as "Tucker's Barn" after a family in the area. When the county was established, it was one of the first county seats suggested (one representative picked something else but it got shut down).
Also something unique about Lenoir is that it has a strange addiction with monuments. There was like 6 monuments in downtown alone. First the usual Veterans Memorial, which is bigger than most other ones.

And then some other one.
I dont know exactly what this ones for, but I think its something to do with the Civil war.
And then, like always, the courthouse, first of the Piedmont.
